What you need

3.5 mm crochet hook
1 sewing needle
A pair of safety eyes (8 mm)
Gray yarn (50g)
Drak gray yarn (50g)
White yarn (50g)

Instructions

Stitches

ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
dc: double crochet
BLO: back loop only
FLO: front loop only
inc: increase (2 dc in one loop)
dc2tog: pull yarn through loop, pull yarn through second loop, yarn over and pull through all loops

Head

Start with gray yarn.

Rnd 1: ch 2, work 6 dc into first ch - 6 st.
Rnd 2: 2 dc in each st around - 12 st.
Rnd 3: [2 dc in next st, dc in next st] 6 times - 18 st.
Rnd 4: [2 dc in next st, dc in next 2 st] 6 times - 24 st.
Rnd 5: [2 dc in next st, dc in next 3 st] 6 times - 30 st.
Rnd 6: [2 dc in next st, dc in next 4 st] 6 times - 36 st.
Rnd 7: [2 dc in next st, dc in next 5 st] 6 times - 42 st.
Rnd 8-13: (6 rounds) dc in each st around - 42 st.
Rnd 14: [2 dc in next st, dc in next 6 st] 6 times - 48 st.
Rnd 15-17: (3 rounds) dc in each st around - 48 st.

Fit eyes between rounds 12 and 13.

Rnd 18: [dc2tog, dc in next 6 st] 6 times - 42 st.
Rnd 19: [dc2tog, dc in next 5 st] 6 times - 36 st.
Rnd 20: [dc2tog, dc in next 4 st] 6 times - 30 st.
Rnd 21: [dc2tog, dc in next 3 st] 6 times - 24 st.
Rnd 22: [dc2tog, dc in next 2 st] 6 times - 18 st.

Stuff head.

Rnd 23: [dc2tog, dc in next st] 6 times - 12 st.
Rnd 24: [dc2tog] 6 times - 6 st.
Rnd 25: [dc2tog] 3 times and fasten off - 0 st.

Leave around 6.5” (~17cm) of yarn to sew to the body.

Ears (make 2)

Start with gray yarn.

Rnd 1: ch 2, work 6 dc into first ch - 6 st.
Rnd 2: 2 dc in each st around - 12 st.
Rnd 3: [2 dc in next st, dc in next st] 6 times - 18 st.
Rnd 4: [2 dc in next st, dc in next 2 st] 6 times - 24 st.
Rnd 5-9: (5 rounds) dc in each st around - 24 st.

sl st and fasten off. Sew to the head.

Legs & Body

Start with white yarn.

Rnd 1: ch 2, work 6 dc into first ch - 6 st.
Rnd 2: 2 dc in each st around - 12 st.

Change to gray yarn.

Rnd 3: [2 dc in next st, dc in next st] 6 times - 18 st.
Rnd 4: BLO dc in each st around - 18 st.
Rnd 5-8: (4 rounds) dc in each st around - 18 st.

sl st and fasten off the first leg. Make the second leg following the instructions from Rnd 1 to 8. ch 4 and join both legs with a dc in the stitch immediately to the left of the last stitch made in the first leg. This will be the first dc in the new round.

Rnd 9: dc in next 18 st, FLO dc in next 4 st, dc in next 18 st - 40 st.
Rnd 10-17: (8 rounds) dc in each st around - 40 st.
Rnd 18: [dc2tog, dc in next 8 st] 4 times - 36 st.
Rnd 19: dc in each st around - 36 st.
Rnd 20: [dc2tog, dc in next 4 st] 6 times - 30 st.
Rnd 21: dc in each st around - 30 st.
Rnd 22: [dc2tog, dc in next 3 st] 6 times - 24 st.
Rnd 23: dc in each st around - 24 st.

Stuff body.

Rnd 26: [dc2tog, dc in next st] 6 times - 12 st.
Rnd 27: dc in each st around - 12 st.

Sew to the head. Use dark gray yarn to embroider the nose and claws.
